ST.PETERSBURG, April 14 (RIA Novosti-North West's Dina Danilova) - Ukraine is not going to withdraw from the CIS and the CEE (the common economic environment being set up by Russia, Belarus, Ukraine and Kazakhstan), deputy chairman of the Supreme Rada (Ukrainian parliament) international committee Oleg Grachev told the press conference on Thursday. He leads the Ukrainian parliamentary delegation at the 25th session of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly in St.Petersburg.

"There are political forces in Ukraine seeking, or at least professing, that the CEE is unprofitable for Ukraine and the CIS can be left", Grachev said.

However, "as seen from the official statements of the president, the prime minister and the chairman of the Supreme Rada, withdrawal from these agreements is not in the plans", he said.

"Moreover, speaking of the Supreme Rada, if such proposals arrived the parliament would not support them because more than a half of the deputies are for cooperation within the CIS and the CEE", Grachev said.

In turn, talking of Russian-Ukrainian relations, chairman of the CIS committee of the Federation Council (upper chamber of Russian parliament) Vadim Gustov opined to journalists that Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Timoshenko has not come to Russia because Ukraine is not ready to advance its economic development concept.

"The 2004 protocol clearly says what the Russian economy will do with regard to oil and gas, how the space complex will work. In these directions we and Ukraine are in mighty cooperation. Timoshenko is not ready to propose anything else", Gustov thinks.

In his opinion, Ukraine is to be actually ready for dialog with Russia by late May-June.

In the opinion of the State Duma (Russia's lower parliamentary chamber) deputy Gennadi Seleznev, Ukrainian leaders have not yet worked out a general strategy for interaction with Russia, which is why "we are witnessing different points of view from the president, the government and the parliament of Ukraine".
