MOSCOW, April 9 (RIA Novosti) - Moscow appreciates Russian-German international interaction, particularly in the United Nations, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has said.

"Russian-German interaction in the international arena, particularly in the United Nations, is gratifying. It relies on the common approaches of Moscow and Berlin to the key problems of world order, the struggle against the new threats, especially international terrorism", the Russian foreign minister told the magazine Diplomat in the interview. The text has been posted to the official ministerial site on Saturday.

Lavrov noted that relations between Russia and Germany are developing as successfully as never before. To him, the climate of Russian-German relations is set by the spirit of mutual trust, equality, and a respectful approach to each other's interests.

"They are described by transparency and awareness of interdependence in handling crucial European and international problems. Cooperation in all the key directions, from the joint effort in the ensurance of international peace and strategic stability, to cooperation in the economic, cultural and humanitarian sectors has assumed a dynamic, productive nature", Lavrov said.

He stressed that in some areas cooperation with Germany is ahead of dialogs with other leading partners of Russia in Europe and is a guideline for them.

Concerning the celebrations of the 60th anniversary of Victory over Nazism, the Russian foreign minister noted that "Russia and Germany remember the results and the lessons of the Second World War, assess them from the positions of historical truth, cooperate in the name of no repetition of the tragedy. And for neo-Nazism, which splashes sometimes appear, to have no future in store".

"Our peoples have made and are implementing a strategic choice in favor of reconciliation and partnership, combining of efforts in opposing new challenges and threats. This choice is striking deeper and deeper roots in the conscience of the absolute majority of the Russians and Germans", Sergei Lavrov said.
