BISHKEK, April 2 (RIA Novosti) - A parliamentary commission led by speaker Omurbek Tekebayev flies to Russia to hold talks with deposed president Askar Akayev, the press service of Kyrgyzstan's parliament told RIA Novosti.

Akayev is expected to write a resignation statement in the presence of the commission members. The statement will be confirmed by a notary and read to all parliamentarians, the press service reported.

On Friday Askar Akayev told RIA Novosti that he was ready to resign if he was given a chance to announce this at the Kyrgyz parliament.

"I am ready to come, deliver a farewell speech and announce my pre-term resignation at parliament, although my presidential term expires on October 30, 2005," Akayev said.

According to Akayev, he will resign only at parliament.

"This will make the elections, whose date has already been fixed, legitimate if parliament has not changed the date. So, the next president will be legitimate," he noted.

"Otherwise, the opposition to the new leadership will appear and the next power shift may occur next year," Akayev added.

In his words, he does not make any illegitimate conditions.

"The first condition is the guarantees of my personal security and the second - the observation of the law on the guarantees of presidential activities," he said.

My only purpose is to help Kyrgyzstan overcome this constitutional crisis, Akayev emphasized.
