MOSCOW, April 1 (RIA Novosti) - The city prosecutor's office has indicted architect Nodar Kancheli for criminal negligence. He had designed the Transvaal, an aqua park in Yasenevo, Moscow's southwest, whose dome collapsed in February 2004 to bring bad casualties.

The Transvaal Park investigation accuses the architect of causing death through negligence to two or more persons, and bad damages to numerous persons' health through failure to comply with his occupational obligations, the prosecutor's press service says in a press release.

Mr. Kancheli was indicted today in his lawyers' presence, adds the statement.

The top prosecutor's experts made the same conclusions on the accident as a municipal ad hoc commission, Vladimir Resin, Moscow construction chief, said to newsmen on a previous occasion. Municipal authorities established the ad hoc team immediately after the tragedy, he stressed.

The city prosecutor's experts point out a wrong Transvaal construction concept and erroneous design. These explicit conclusions belong to an all-round technical expertise, top prosecutor Anatoli Zuyev said to the media.

Investigators will now study those conclusions to determine the culprits and circumstances of the accident. The involved persons will be indicted quite soon, in compliance with the legal procedure, he went on.

The investigation is coming to an end, added Mr. Zuyev.

The Transvaal Park accident, of February 14, 2004, killed 28 and injured more than a hundred. The top prosecutor's office has qualified eighty as victims and survivors.
