ST. PETERSBURG, March 23 (RIA Novosti) - An inter-departmental working group discussed preparations for the reburial ceremony of the remains of Empress Maria Fyodorovna in St. Petersburg on Wednesday, said Georgy Vilinbakhov, head of the Russian state heraldry office.

"We considered technical issues of the reburial, in particular, the financing of the events and the ceremony's scenario," he said.

According to Vilinbakhov, the session of the inter-departmental working group was held in St. Petersburg for the first time. The next session is scheduled for April.

The today's session was also attended by representatives of the special working group for the organization of the reburial ceremony, Vilinbakhov added.

Empress Maria Fyodorovna, nee Princess Maria-Sofia-Fredericka-Dagmar of Denmark, was the wife of Emperor Alexander III, the father of the last Russian Emperor Nicholas II. The later was executed by Bolsheviks on July 18, 1918. After the October revolution of 1917, Maria Fyodorovna returned to Denmark. She died in Copenhagen in 1928 and was buried in Roskilde Cathedral.

The reburial ceremony of Empress Maria Fyodorovna's remains is scheduled for late September 2006.
