PARIS, March 22 (RIA Novosti's Andrey Nizamutdinov) -- Radio Russia's analyst Nikolai Mamulashvili has presented at the Paris international book fair a book, "My Chechen War", based on real events and the impressions of the author who together with his three colleagues spent 94 days in Chechen captivity.

"I have entitled the book 'My Chechen War' because it is part of my life, though the same story could have happened to any other journalist, serviceman or civilian," said Mamulashvili in a RIA Novosti interview,

The action is set in the period when the government of Ichkeria kept itself for itself, according to the author.

"It was a criminal Chechnya, the Chechnya of thugs, when kidnapping was a mass business," said Mamulashvili, adding that he was told that he had been released as a result of a special operation.

"It is a piece of literature rather than a memorandum for those who might be taken hostage," says Mamulashvili, who thinks that a reader concerned can find some practical recommendations as well.

"Of course, it's better to stay away from any kind of captivity but work is work and therefore when you find yourself in a hot spot, you have to follow definite rules: the term of your mission trip should not exceed 12 days, don't be stupid enough to get out a lot of money from your purse in public, do not wear things that are eye-catching or indicate your professional allegiance," Mamulashvili shared his experience.

The three months he spent in captivity have not caused him to experience the so-called Stockholm syndrome, when a kind of affinity appears between the hostages and their captors. "Those who abducted us were terrorists and thugs and so we treated them as such," he said.
