RUSSIAN, BELARUSSIAN PRESIDENTS MAY MEET SOON

MINSK, March 18 (RIA Novosti) - A meeting between the presidents of Russia and Belarus may be held very soon, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said.

"We hope the meeting (between the two presidents) will be held very soon and will be another step toward the earliest holding of the Supreme State Council (of the Russia-Belarus Union) session," Lavrov said.

In turn, Belarussian Foreign Minister Sergei Martynov said that the president of Belarus had instructed the ministries to prepare questions for the presidents' talks.

According to Martynov, the Belarussian side is satisfied with the interaction with the Russian Foreign Ministry in all directions.

Martynov thanked Lavrov for assistance provided in countries where no Belarussian missions are present.

He also said that at the meeting with Lavrov they discussed the entire range of questions, from political cooperation in international organizations to economic interaction.
