MOSCOW, March 12 (RIA Novosti) - Moscow Mayor Yuri Luzhkov believes that Moscow's experience in holding top-level international competitions will add to our chances to host the Olympic Games in 2012.

"We have something that our rivals lack. This is the past experience accumulated during the 1980 Olympics, Games of the CIS and Baltic States and Moscow-Utah Games," Mr. Luzhkov told journalists on Saturday.

In his opinion, Moscow has three advantages - the desire to host the Olympics, the possibility to hold competitions at the highest level and rich experience in hosting international sporting events.

"It is too early to speak about Moscow's chances. What we are talking about is that Moscow wants and is able to host the Games," Yuri Luzhkov stressed.

According to him, Moscow has enough sports centers to host the Olympics without substantial expenses. "Certainly, they need modernization but we can do it," the mayor noted.

The final decision will be made by the Evaluation Commission of the International Olympic Committee arriving in Moscow tomorrow.

"The commission will make a decision. I hope the three aspects of this decision, politics, conjuncture and luck, will be in our favor," Mr. Luzhkov stressed.
