MOSCOW, March 9 (RIA Novosti's Alexander Kovalev) - Garbage-laden Russian spaceship Progress M-51, also used as a research laboratory, was deorbited and at 20:03, Moscow time, dumped in the Pacific, RIA Novosti quotes the Russian Mission Control Center as saying.

At 19:17, Moscow time, the space truck, which had outlived its service life, received the last and only brake impulse from the onboard engines. Its fragments unburnt in the atmosphere went to the "spaceship cemetery" in latitude 40 in the Pacific Ocean near the Easter Island.

Its sinking had been delayed by 9 days for technical experiments, RIA Novosti learnt from Mr. Victor Blagov, deputy flight control officer of the Russian ISS segment.

"Like in Progress M1-11earlier, at this craft new technical experiments were held seeking choice of orientation type for independent modules", he said.

The new space truck Progress M52 was docked with the ISS on March 2. It has brought along food, fire-protection and medical equipment, fresh linen, personal hygiene kits for the crewmen. It has also delivered fuel for attitude-control engines, drinking and service water, and research equipment.
