MOSCOW, March 6 (RIA Novosti) - CIS EMO (non-governmental organization for monitoring the results of elections in CIS countries) Chairman Aleksei Kochetkov does not discard the possibility of rigging the results of parliamentary elections in Moldova.

"So far, we have registered low attendance at the polling stations and some attempts to agitate people. The rigging might occur during final vote counting," he told in a phone interview with RIA Novosti on Sunday.

Mr. Kochetkov also pointed out that representatives of the OSCE mission maintained a "strange position." "It seems that they are ready to announce the democratic character of the elections in Moldova," the head of CIS EMO stated.

He said that despite the deportation of CIS EMO representatives from Moldova yesterday, some of them "managed to break through," and about 50 Belarus citizens and 50 Ukrainian citizens, members of CIS EMO organization, are currently monitoring the elections on the territory of Moldova.

CIS EMO was founded and registered in Russia in September 2003 as a non-governmental organization.

The founders of CIS EMO include political scientists, journalists and former state officials. The main goal declared by the organization is to assist countries on the post-Soviet space to preserve and develop the institute of elections.
