MOSCOW, February 25 (RIA Novosti) - The Russian EXPO 2005 pavilion will imitate delightful woodland noises-the rustle of leaves, the bubbling of a brook, and bird warble-all that with plasma screens, photographs with a three-dimensional effect, slides and video footages, Yuri Shalayev, chief pavilion designer, said to Novosti.

The interior will be of a dark blue to produce an effect of coolness, so welcome to the public in the Japanese heat.

"We have taken an all-round view of the upcoming exposition, to offer on display everything we Russians are taking pride in," said the designer.

A huge collage, 7 meters to 36, will decorate the pavilion facade. Inscribed, "The Russian Federation", it will represent Red Square, a choice of Russian landscapes, a space rocket launch, portraits of many people and, last but not least, a mammoth, Russian exposition mascot.

As they enter, the visitors will be offered a printed text about "Noospheric Harmony", principal exposition topic.

The pavilion will have approximately twenty screens to show films on the topics concerning the five thematic exposition sections. All will figure one character, an endearing cartoon mammoth calf, who will come as pavilion guide.

"We want it all to be a stunning high-tech sight. I make it a point to produce a whole impression of the exposition," says Mr. Shalayev. A spheroidal screen suspended from the ceiling will add much to the desired impression by representing Earth in space.

"An architectural and artistic center of the exposition, this screen will show our planet, with simultaneous shows of footages on all sections' topics. It will tell about man and biosphere-sections that are next to each other, about human desire to be at one with Mother Nature, and about noospheric harmony. What I am referring to is the noosphere, a scholarly concept of the sphere of reason, first introduced by Vladimir Vernadsky, Russian scientist of an encyclopedic scope of research. He was born in 1863, and died in 1945," the designer goes on.

One stand is devoted to mammoths and their studies in Siberia's Yakutia. A mammoth skeleton in a fine state of preservation will come as the most interesting exhibit.

As always, the Russian exposition will give pride of place to space technologies. It will display a dummy of the C-XXI reusable space vehicle to orbit and deliver cargoes and spacemen, space tourists included, what with skyrocketing popularity of this adventure. Of major interest will be a TU 2000, one-stage reusable hydrogen-powered spacecraft, and a cosmoplane-top-notch rocket-engine aircraft.

The section, Cultural Mosaic, will give a glimpse of a thousand-year long history of Russia's ethnic entities, and their culture.

Calamity and industrial disaster monitoring, prevention and relief-a burning topic-will also have a section dedicated to it.

The EXPO 2005 will be held in Aichi, Japan, March 25 into September 25. More than 120 Russian-based corporate exhibitors have applied for today.
