RUSSIAN AND FRENCH ANTIMONOPOLY SERVICES INK COOPERATION PROTOCOL

MOSCOW, February 21 (RIA Novosti) - Russia's Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) and the state institution Promotion of Changes in Financial-Economic Technologies of the French Economic, Finance and Industry Ministry have signed the 2005-2006 Cooperation Protocol in Paris, says the FAS press release, which has come to hand at RIA Novosti on Monday.

"As a priority direction of cooperation the sides have fixed interaction in the carrying out of antimonopoly control in the field of competition and regulation of natural monopolies", the press release reads. Before the end of 2006, a set of joint measures will be carried out, targeting the exchange of experience and the improvement of employees' skills in the sphere of protection of competition.

The sides have stated that since 1993, when the Russian and the French antimonopoly agencies concluded a cooperation agreement, they have arranged efficient interaction. They have voiced the desire to strengthen and develop cooperation in the field of the antimonopoly policy.
