ROSKOSMOS HEAD TO ATTEND EARTH AND SPACE WEEK IN BRUSSELS

MOSCOW, February 14 (RIA Novosti) - Head of the Russian Space Agency (Roskosmos) Anatoli Perminov will take part in the series of international talks within the Earth and Space Week in Brussels on February 15 through 18. The talks will be carried out under the aegis of the European Communities Commission and the European Space Agency.

Meetings will be held in the themes Space and Science, Space and Development, Space and Calamity Relief, RIA Novosti was told at Roskosmos.

The Russian delegation will also participate in the GEO'3 summit, where multilateral talks for a global earth survey system will take place.

The conference is designed as a conceptual exchange of opinions at the level of ranking representatives of state departments, space agencies and international organizations.

"The goal is to show the advantage of international cooperation within the framework of space programs and determine the role and direction of such cooperation in implementing the fledging United European Space Program", Mr.Perminov said.

His meeting with vice-president of the European Commission Gunter Verheugen has also been planned.
