CRIMINAL ON INTERPOL WANTED LIST DETAINED IN DAGESTAN

MOSCOW, February 13 (RIA Novosti) - A criminal on international wanted list has been detained in Dagestan. Weapons and ammunition were discovered when his house was searched, RIA Novosti was told in the joint press center of the Regional Operational Headquarters (ROH) for controlling the counter terrorist operation in the North Caucasus.

"The day before, in the village of Novolakskoye of the republic of Dagestan's (North Caucasus) Novolaksky district, operational and manhunt activities resulted in the discovery of weapons and ammunition in the house of a 41-year-old local resident who has been on the Interpol wanted list since 2001 for armed rebellion," said the source.

The owner of the house has been detained, and a check is underway, said the ROH.
