RUSSIA PROSECUTOR GENERAL AND CE COMMISSIONER DISCUSS ABDUCTION SITUATION

MOSCOW, February 9 (RIA Novosti) - At a meeting in Moscow on Wednesday, Russian Prosecutor General Vladimir Ustinov and the Council of Europe Human Rights Commissioner Alvaro Jil-Robles discussed the problem of combating abductions, says the communique of the Information and Public Relations Board, posted on the Prosecutor-General's website.

"The meeting pivoted on matters of mutual interest. Such as the observance of human rights in the Chechen Republic, combating of kidnapping, work of law-enforcement agencies in investigating this kind of crimes and so on", the communique reads.

The press release specifies that among those present at the meeting were Russian Ombudsman Vladimir Lukin, Chief Military Prosecutor Alexander Savenkov, Russian Deputy Prosecutors General Nikolai Shepel and Alexander Zvyagintsev.
