UZBEK NEWSMEN COMPETE FOR 60TH V-E ANNIVERSARY

TASHKENT, February 5 (RIA Novosti's Abu-Ali Niyazmatov) - Journalists of Uzbek-based Russian-language media outlets will have a contest to commemorate the 60th World War II victory anniversary, reports the Russian Cultural Center in Tashkent, Uzbek capital.

The center organized the contest in team with the Russian Embassy to Uzbekistan and the local office of the Roszarubezhcenter-organization for contacts with other countries and with ethnic Russians abroad.

Contest contributions are to concern WWII veterans, Uzbek feats of valor and industry on the battlefield and in the rear war effort, soldier fraternity traditions carried on, and V-E celebrations in Uzbekistan.

The jury represents leading Russian media outlets whose journalists are accredited in Uzbekistan, the Russian Cultural Center, the Russian Embassy, and the Roszarubezhcenter.

The contest will be summed up, May 25.
