MOSCOW, February 3 (RIA Novosti's Andrei Reznichenko) - In 2006 the RAO Russia's Unified Energy Systems may not be finally dissolved by virtue of political or other aspects, Mr.Mikhail Odintsov, one of the UES board of directors and chairman of the natural monopolies commission of the Federation Council, has told RIA Novosti.

"To my mind, if the reform does not reach definite results in 2006, the term for dissolving the UES should be extended", Mr.Odintsov said.

Asked by RIA Novosti about the company's dissolution, Mr.Valentin Mezhevich, first deputy chairman of the same commission, noted: "So far, we are not missing the deadline but there are delays in, for instance, setting the rules for the wholesale and retail markets".

"Another aspect, with the deadline put off, is dividing the power grid companies", Mr.Mezhevich said.

Back in December 2004, Industrial and Energy Minister Victor Khristenko said that the UES company would be dissolved as the legal person in 2006.
