MOSCOW, February 3 (RIA Novosti) - Since 2000 Russian-Polish trade turnover has grown by 60% and totaled $9 billion, Russian Deputy Transportation Minister Alexander Misharin said at the 7th session of the bilateral permanent transport committee in Warsaw on Thursday.

"The last four years saw the progress in Russian-Polish economic cooperation. This demands more productive interaction between Russia and Poland in the transportation sphere," the Transportation Ministry's press service quoted Mr. Misharin as saying.

Speaking about the possibility to set up a joint venture to manage the logistic center in Slavkov and the Izov-Slavkov railroad sector, Alexander Misharin said that a joint working group had been formed to consider this project.

"The project will compete against shipment of container cargoes between Southeast Asia and Europe," the deputy minister stressed.
