BRUSSELS/ KIEV, February 2 (RIA Novosti) - Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko is to arrive in Brussels on February 22 to meet with heads of state and government of NATO's 26 member countries.

The Ukrainian party has already submitted a relevant request, a source in the alliance's HQ informed RIA Novosti.

According to the source, the official response is expected to come on Thursday and is likely to be positive.

"It will not be any kind of secret talks. We shall just have an opportunity to hear President Yushchenko speaking on the priorities of his policy," the interlocutor specified.

The summit of alliance members, which will be attended by US President George Bush, will take place in NATO's HQ in Brussels on February 22.

At the summit in Brussels the participants will discuss prospects for NATO-Ukrainian cooperation, a source in the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry was quoted as saying.

A spokesman for the Ukrainian foreign office pointed out that Ukraine will be the only non-NATO country at the February summit.

However, in an interview with a RIA Novosti correspondent Irina Gerashchenko, press secretary of the Ukrainian president neither confirmed nor denied the possibility of Viktor Yushchenko's participation in the summit.
