"Passengers arriving in Moscow can now reach it round-the-clock at a fixed price, from 900 to 1,500 rubles [1 dollar equals 27.88 rubles]," official representative for Sheremetyevo Anna Zakharenkova told RIA Novosti.
Reaching the airport from Moscow by Sheremetyevo-licensed taxis is also possible for 678 rubles, she said.
With a perspective on the future, it is planned to introduce for passengers such a service as hiring a taxi while still aboard.
Official opening of the first taxi parking lot at the "arrivals zone" of the Sheremetyevo second terminal was held on Monday. Business priority has gone to a well-reputed taxi company.
"The obligatory conditions for service at Sheremetyevo are not only experience, the license, own repair base but also modern taxi equipment, driver's uniform and the simultaneous presence of ten taxis owned by the same operator on the lot," Zakharenkova said.
The Sheremetyevo airport is wholly state-owned. Sheremetyevo is doing service for over 50 percent of the international passenger conveyance on international routes and over 40 percent of the passenger flow at the Moscow airport hub.
On results of the 2004 eleven months, the total flow of passengers constituted 12,018,000. Over 70 airlines leave Sheremetyevo on a regular footing.
