MOSCOW, December 19 (RIA Novosti) - With the 1:0 victory over the Czechs the Russian team won the 37th ROSNO International Moscow Hockey Cup, which was the second round of the Euro Hockey Tournament.

The winning point of the game was scored by Russia's Alexander Popov.

Last time the Russian hockey players won the International Moscow Hockey Cup in 2000, which was called the Baltika Cup at that time. This year due to the ban on the beer advertising on television ROSNO became the general sponsor of the Moscow tournament.

With the victory at the ROSNO Cup the Russian team stabilized its position in the Euro Hockey tournament having 12 points. Russia currently has a four point lead over the Finnish team, which is scheduled to play the final game of second round in Moscow against the Swedish team.

Starting with the 1996-1997 season of the Euro Hockey tournament Russian team has never won this competition. The Finnish team won the tournament six times and the Swedes - two times.

The final results of the Euro Hockey Tournament will be announced after the Swedish hockey games, to be held in February of 2005.
