SUKHUMI, December 6 (RIA Novosti) - Abkhazia, self-proclaimed republic in Georgia, will go to the presidential polls again. Hopefuls Sergei Bagapsh and Raul Khajimba have signed an understanding to run together-Bagapsh for presidency and Khajimba vice-presidency.

There are more signatories to the agreement-incumbent President Vladislav Ardzinba, Prime Minister Nodar Khashba, and two Russian VIPs-Vladimir Kolesnikov, federal Deputy Prosecutor General, and Sergei Baburin, Deputy Speaker of the State Duma, parliament's lower house.

The election is to take place before January 13. The document explains the fairly long preparation term by the necessity for the Central Election Commission to resume work, and for candidates to be nominated and registered.

The agreement envisages all reserve units pulled out of Sukhumi, Abkhaz capital, within the next 24 hours, Amiran Lagvila, prime-ministerial aide, said to Novosti.

The Parties pledge to provide due conditions for all republican ruling bodies to perform normally. In particular, related official agencies will guard the government premises, the State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company, and other key offices.

If the agreement is thwarted through Raul Khajimba's fault, Sergei Bagapsh will have his presidential inauguration. In case Bagapsh torpedoes the agreement, necessary resolutions will be up to the outgoing President as constitutional guarantor, the document says in a proviso.
