UKRAINIAN PRESIDENT MEETS WITH LITHUANIAN AND POLISH LEADERS

KIEV, December 6 (RIA Novosti's Victor Demidenko) - Ukrainian President Leonid Kuchma has begun a meeting with presidents Valdas Adamkus of Lithuania and Aleksander Kwasniewski of Poland.

The meeting is attended by Polish Foreign Ministry Wlodzimierz Cimoszewicz and Nicholas Bigman, envoy of the chairman of the EU foreign ministerial council, RIA Novosti learnt from the press service of the Ukrainian president.

Leonid Kuchma's meeting with mediators in the settlement of the political crisis in Ukraine was to begin at 12:00, Moscow time, but has been put off to a later time.

The previous talks were attended, alongside Kuchma, by two runners for Ukrainian presidency Victor Yanukovich and Victor Yuschenko, parliamentary speaker Vladimir Litvin, presidents of Lithuania and Poland Valdas Adamkus and Aleksander Kwasniewski, EU supreme commissioner for external and security policy Javier Solana, State Duma speaker Boris Gryzlov, OSCE Secretary General Jan Kubis.

The last sitting was held on December 1.
