ANKARA, December 6 (RIA Novosti) - Vladimir Putin has spoken out against using talks on Russia's admission to the World Trade Organisation (WTO) as a political tool.

The Russian President described the talks as satisfactory.

"We want to join the WTO on decent and standard terms," the head of state said.

"The only thing we cannot accept is that the talks should be used by whomsoever as a political tool to get an advantage in solving political problems," Putin pointed out.

"This is unacceptable and destructive for the very organisation, which is based on the principle of depoliticization. As for the rates of the process, we are satisfied with them, "the president remarked.

According to the president, the process of admission to the WTO is "always complicated for all countries seeking decent terms".

Vladimir Putin mentioned the example of China, which the talks took 15 years.

"And we have been in talks for 4 years. Before that we held nothing serious ," the president said.

The negotiations are not easy but the president does not worry about that.

"We should have been admitted if we had surrendered, but we do not want to give in," Putin said. "We should like to join the organisation on acceptable terms, which would meet the interests of the national economy making Russia a stable and reliable partner for all the states we cooperate with in this sphere. We are fighting for it, exhibit flexibility, and we are met with understanding," the president underlined.

The president voiced his content with the work of Russian negotiators.

Asked about the protocol of talks with India, Putin stressed that all the questions had been adjusted and the protocol would be signed soon.
