NEW DELHI, December 1 (RIA Novosti) - Russia will deliver three more frigates to India, a source in the Russian Defense Ministry told RIA Novosti.

At the moment a delegation of the Russian Defense Ministry visits New Delhi and participates in the session of the bilateral intergovernmental commission for military-technical cooperation.

"It is not ruled out that India will buy three more Russian frigates," RIA Novosti's interlocutor said.

According to Russian Defense Minister Sergei Ivanov, Russia has already delivered three frigates to India, however, the delivery was delayed in connection with differences in the Russian and Indian legislation.

In compliance with the Russian legislation, equipment should be supplied and paid for at first and a fine for delays is to be paid afterwards, the minister said. The Indian legislation provides for another procedure.

"There are certain differences, but we shall soon solve this technical problem. We should find out what we owe each other," Mr. Ivanov noted.

Speaking about Russian-Indian cooperation in the sphere of land forces, the minister said that Russia completed supplies of assembled T-90 tanks to India.

"We currently supply tanks in sections," he reported.

In this connection, India cannot produce these tanks and spare parts itself and will purchase the necessary equipment in Russia for 10-15 years. India was proposed to make a list of spare parts, which it will need in 2005, Sergei Ivanov said.
