KIEV, November 25 (RIA Novosti) - Ukraine has a chance for dialogue and compromise, announced former Polish President Lech Walesa during his visit to Ukraine. He arrived in Kiev on Thursday morning.

"There is a chance for negotiations and compromises if the forcible methods are not used," said Mr. Walesa speaking at the meeting organized by Victor Yuschenko's supporters at the Independence Square in the Ukrainian capital.

In his opinion, any propaganda of violence among the protesters poses an immediate threat to the negotiation process.

"Ukraine has a chance, and the entire world is closely following the development of the situation in the country. I believe that you will find a reasonable solution," Mr. Walesa stated.

He said that he was leaving Ukraine and heading to Portugal. His representative Zbignev Buyak will stay in Kiev to provide any possible assistance. Walesa characterized his aide as "a great fighter."
