UKRAINE: INTERIOR MINISTRY WARNS MEDIA AGAINST HOAXES ON FOREIGN COMMANDOS PRESENT

KIEV, November 25 (RIA Novosti's Victor Demidenko) - Ukraine's Interior Ministry called political activists and media outlets to withstand from circulating unverified rumours of foreign commandos introduced in the country, ministerial PR say in today's public statement.

There are no foreign special troops in Ukraine, stresses the document. Allegations of their presence are blatant misinformation aimed to make the nation doubt that Ukraine's own law enforcement agencies are able to provide legality and the constitutional order singlehanded.

Meanwhile, particular media outlets and public speakers are making firm statements, as they have been before, of Russia's Interior Ministry riot units stationed in Ukraine, disguised in Ukrainian uniforms for missions in Kiev, the country's capital.

As things really are, Ukraine's Interior Ministry has no shortage of personnel, equipment and rights to provide public order and safety on its own in compliance with the national Constitution and the Police Law.

The ministry is strongly calling the mass media and political leaders and activists to withstand from circulating unverified information that may cause ungrounded public indignation and provoke breach of order.

"We are appealing for reserved and responsible attitudes to Ukraine's civil peace and calm," says the Interior Ministry public relations department.
