BRASILIA, November 22 (RIA Novosti) - The President of Brazil has accepted with thanks Vladimir Putin's invitation to come over to Russia some time soon.

Speaking at a news conference after talks with his visiting counterpart Monday, Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva said a return visit would make it possible for the two of them to continue the dialogue started today. He said he would like President Putin to know he shared his grief over the Beslan school siege and reemphasized the need for concerted anti-terror efforts.

Lula da Silva expressed appreciation for Russia's assistance in upgrading a Brazilian cosmodrome to make possible the launch of commercial satellites.

He described as an "important decision" the ratification of the Kyoto Protocol by the Russian Parliament, pointing out that "this document will always be of much significance for environmental protection."

The Brazilian leader also highlighted his country's cultural cooperation with Russia. "As far as I know, Brazilian TV serials are highly popular with Russian audiences; and the Bolshoi Theater's ballet school in Brazil brings us closer to traditions that originated in Russia," Lula da Silva said.
