MOSCOW, November 14 - RIA Novosti. Russian President Vladimir Putin is planning to sign several bilateral agreements during his visit to Chile, Chile's Ambassador to Moscow Mario Silberman told RIA Novosti.

"Legal, peaceful nuclear research, and military cooperation agreements will be signed," he said.

According to the Chilean Ambassador, peaceful nuclear research and military cooperation agreements will give a fresh impetus to scientific and technological cooperation between the two countries.

Silberman also said an agreement eliminating double taxation would be signed during the visit. The Chilean authorities hope that the agreement will be seen as a signal for more active economic involvement, he added.

In 2004, Chile expects trade turnover with Russia to double year-on-year.

"We expect that this year's trade turnover between our countries will double year-on-year to $120 million," the Chilean Ambassador said.

According to the diplomat, "the countries still have a lot of work to do" in developing new sectors of economic cooperation.

Silberman described Chile as the world-leading supplier of copper, molybdenum, and iodine. "We are interested in attracting investment in our mining industries," he said.

"Chile is interested in using Russian know-how in this field, which is now being considered," Silberman said.

He described space industry as another sector where Chile was willing to cooperate with Russia.
