MOSCOW, November 13 (RIA Novosti) - Russian first Deputy Foreign Minister Valery Loshchinin believes that Georgia has no reasons to reproach Russia with alleged interference with its domestic affairs, the Foreign Ministry's press and information department told RIA Novosti.

Mr. Loshchinin announced this after Georgian ambassador to Russia Valery Chechelashvili had handed him the Georgian Foreign Ministry's statement. In this document Georgia reproaches Russia with alleged interference with its domestic affairs.

According to Valery Loshchinin, such statements are absolutely groundless.

The Russian side cannot but be seriously concerned about the growing tensions in Abkhazia, the result of destructive forces' actions and attempts to seize power by force, the Russian deputy foreign minister said.

Russia is not indifferent to this situation because the events are developing near its southern border and dozens of thousands of Russian nationals live in Abkhazia, he stressed.

"The soonest settlement in Abkhazia is necessary to restore security and stability in this region on the basis of law and order. This is highly important for the resumption of peaceful talks and settlement of the Georgian-Abkhazian conflict," Valery Loshchinin emphasized.
