ST. PETERSBURG'S GOVERNOR VISITS IRAN

TEHRAN/ST. PETERSBURG, November 8 (RIA Novosti) - Governor of St. Petersburg Valentina Matvienko heads a large Russian delegation, which arrives in Iran on Monday, November 8, on a working visit.

According to diplomatic sources in Tehran, "Mrs. Matvienko will discuss the perspective areas of the development of the Russian-Iranian regional cooperation in the industrial and trade-economic spheres and other issues of mutual interest."

During a large program of the visit, which officially starts in the Iranian capital on Tuesday, Valentina Matvienko will meet with representatives of the Tehran Mayor's office and top-ranking officials of the Islamic Republic of Iran. Later, she will visit the city of Isfagan (twin-city of St. Petersburg).

Official Russian delegation includes representatives of St. Petersburg's administration and business circles, notably - from tool-making industry and metallurgy.

During the visit, the Russian delegation will conduct negotiations with representatives of the Iranian Chamber of Commerce, tool-making and other industrial plants. Several business forums are planned, as well.

After the conclusion of the visit, the Russian delegation will head for Azerbaijan. The working visit will end on November 11.
