RUSSIA'S CENTRAL BANK BUILDS UP ASSETS: YEAR BRINGS 31.6% RISE

MOSCOW, November 5 (RIA Novosti) - The Central Bank of Russia increased its assets by 31.6 per cent within the preceding twelve months, and by 16.5 per cent since the year's start. It made 3,323,786 million roubles, as of October 1, report bank PR. The official rate for today is R28.67/$1.

Precious metals account for 48,228 million roubles of the total. Cash and securities in foreign currency held by nonresidents, and securities emitted by nonresidents exceed 2,726 billion roubles.

Central Bank loans and deposits amounted to 192,846 million roubles, as of October 1. The bank loaned 524 million to resident crediting organisations, and 160,694 million went to serve Russia's foreign debt.

The bank had 281,492 million roubles in securities. Russian government securities accounted for 259,928 million of that.

Cash in circulation exceeded 1,377 billion roubles out of total Central Bank liabilities as of October 1.

Lump deposits exceeded 1,536 billion roubles-796,032 million of that on federal government accounts, and 386,574 million on other resident banks'.
