GHERMAN GREF DISCUSSES PREPARATIONS FOR SIGNING OF RUSSIAN-POLISH AGREEMENTS

WARSAW, November 3 (RIA Novosti's Leonid Sviridov) - Polish President Aleksander Kwasniewski and Russian Economic Development and Trade Minister Gherman Gref, currently on a routine visit to Poland, have discussed preparations for the signing of a number of Russian-Polish agreements in Warsaw on Wednesday.

"These are practical projects, in particular, the construction of a terminal and the use of the 400-km broad-gauge line to Slavkov, the use of the Polish railway and highway for transit of Russian goods to Kaliningrad, etc. All of them were approved by Aleksander Kwasniewski," the Russian minister said.

According to him, this meeting was held to sum up some results and proved that interest in Russia is a key trend in Polish policy.

We discussed the four future agreements and all of them were backed by the Polish President, Mr. Gref noted. Moreover, the Polish leader asked to draft these documents as soon as possible.

The visit to Warsaw was businesslike, indeed, therefore, the Russian delegation leaves Warsaw in a good, positive and active mood, the minister stressed.

A bilateral intergovernmental agreement on economic cooperation was signed in Warsaw on Tuesday by Russian Economic Development and Trade Minister Gherman Gref and Polish Vice Premier, Minister of Economy and Labor Jerzy Hausner.
