MOSCOW, Nov 2 (RIA Novosti) - Russia hopes to complete talks with Japan on the issue of it joining the World Trade Organization, a source in the Russian government told RIA Novosti on Tuesday.

"I hope we are close to the final agreements with Japan," he said. "We have good chances to complete talks within two months."

According to the agency's source, "a limited number of issues have remained" in the talks with Japan. He said they included duties on cars and on some kinds of household appliances, some kinds of agricultural goods, as well as financial and telecommunications services.

"Talks continue" on these issues, "but we are very optimistic, we believe that we will manage to find a common language," said the source.

He said talks on Russia's joining the WTO along with 7-8 countries would be completed in two weeks.

Thus, the negotiating process with more than a half of the WTO member countries will be completed in November. "We will pass this psychological barrier," said the source.

Russia is conducting talks with some 60 WTO member countries, he said.
