WARSAW, November 2 (RIA Novosti's Leonid Sviridov) -An inter-government agreement on economic cooperation was signed Tuesday in Warsaw, in the presence of the press, by Russian Minister for Economic Development and Trade Herman Gref and Polish Vice-Premier, Minister for Economics and Labour Jerzy Hausner.

"We have fulfilled the assignment of our presidents," Herman Gref said at a press conference after the signing of the agreement. "When Polish Pesident Alexander Kwasniewski was on a visit to Moscow not long ago, we agreed to accomplish the preparation of the document before this November and to sign it in Warsaw early this month," said Gref. This agreement details mechanisms of our cooperation and clarifies certain matters concerning guarantees of investor rights, added Gref.

A bilateral inter-government commission to tackle current questions is being set up in accordance with the document signed, said Hausner. The Polish vice-premier thinks the commission will be able to gather for its first session next spring.

The sides also discussed a major transport project with the use of the transit potential of Russia, Ukraine and a big railway strip in Poland, according to Gref. 'This is all about the establishment of a transport corridor for cargo transit from Asia to Europe via Russia," said Gref.

Polish President Alexander Kwasniewski is expected to receive the Russian minister this Wednesday on November 3.
