"Like the rest of the country, the SMF are switching over to the `winter time` mode, that is all the clocks at all our command centers and field units will be put one hour back at the designated moment of the night of October 31," a spokesman for the SMF told RIA Novosti.
According to him, every SMF command center has two clocks: one for local time and the other for Moscow time. "The clocks are to be set back according to the time zone of each particular unit's deployment area," the spokesman said. He also pointed out that the switchover procedure has long been in place in the SMF and operates without fail.
The Space Forces as well as the Mission Control Center in Korolev (Moscow region), however, function by another time pattern.
A spokesman for the Russian Space Force said that none of the Force's clocks are going to be put back as "all missile launches are synchronized with the Greenwich time".
The Korolev Mission Control Center has also been authorized to operate in a permanent and unchanged time mode, which contributes to effective management of the country's space industry.
