U.S. CONSUL, YUGRA GOVERNOR DISCUSS COOPERATION PROSPECTS

MOSCOW, October 28 (RIA Novosti) - U.S. Consul General in Yekaterinburg Scott Roland met with Yugra governor Alexander Filippenko in Khanty-Mansiisk. They discuss mutually beneficial cooperation in different spheres between the United States and the Khanty-Mansi autonomous area (West Siberia). This information is available at www.allrussia.ru

According to Alexander Filippenko's press service, the U.S. side was interested, above all, in cooperation in the spheres of tourism, culture, producing and processing industries.

We are happy to visit Yugra, Scott Roland said. We are interested in effective and long-term cooperation with this Russian region and are ready to discuss all the possibilities.

On his part, Mr. Filippenko told U.S. businessmen about Yugra's socio-economic development, proposed areas for cooperation and positively assessed Russian-U.S. relations.

The U.S. Consul General in Yekaterinburg thanked Alexander Filippenko for a cordial welcome and attention and promised to use the information he received during the Yugra trip in contacts with American businessmen and authorities.

Scott Roland and other U.S. representatives were invited to visit Yugra University and the arts center of the gifted of the North and participated in a conference of industrialists and entrepreneurs.
