As officials of the Volga-Dnepr (Volga-Dnieper) group of companies said, the conference is to be held on the initiative of the Aviakompania Volga-Dnepr (Volga-Dnieper Airline) joint-stock company which operates Ruslan more actively than other airlines.
"Along with the questions of operating the airliner, the Russian-Ukrainian project of reviving the quantity production of Ruslan at the Aviastar-SP plant in Ulyanovsk will be also discussed at the current conference," the Volga-Dnepr officials noted.
In line with tradition, the questions of technical service, flight operations and flight safety, and the problems of maintaining airworthiness and technical improvement of the aircraft are considered at the conferences on the An-124-100. Many of the taken decisions on topical questions of the operation of the An-124-100 airplane were successfully implemented and gave an impetus to the further development of this unique aircraft.
On the first day the conference will be held in the form of a plenary meeting at which reports will be heard out, and the questions of reproduction of the An-124-100 airplanes, maintenance of the An-124-100's airworthiness, the state of flight safety during the commercial use of the An-124-100 aircraft and the main directions of its enhancement, and modernisation of the An-124-100 to meet the "Western" demands and the Russian development engineers' proposals will be discussed. On the second day the conference participants will work in the sections.
Representatives of Russia's Ministry of Transport and Ministry of Industry and Energy, the interstate aviation committee, and Ukraviatrans, and the Russian and Ukrainian development engineers and manufacturers of the aircraft, its engines and units, and representatives of the sectoral scientific-research institutes and all the operators of the An-124-100 airplane will participate in the conference.
