TEHERAN, October 25 (RIA Novosti) - Although Iran understands the world community's concerns about its nuclear programmes, it will not give up atom exploration for peaceful purposes, Iranian government spokesman Abdullah Ramazanzadeh told journalists on Monday.

"We understand the world community's concerns, respect the opinion on this matter, and that is why we are ready to offer any guarantees of peaceful purposes nuclear developments in our country," Ramazanzadeh said.

"At the same time we are not going to quit nuclear development for peaceful purposes within the framework of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty, Teheran being a signatory," the official pointed out.

The spokesman for the Iranian government categorically denied allegations by some western media sources that Teheran was not wishing to meet the EU's proposals of Iranian nuclear settlement.

"We embrace the process of negotiations and we shall do our best to continue the talks," Ramazanzadeh underlined.

Representatives of the EU's three countries (the UK, France and Germany) promised last week at the HQ of the IAEA in Vienna to provide nuclear fuel and new technologies, including assistance in the construction of a light-water research-and-development reactor, in exchange for Teheran's abandoning full nuclear cycle development programme.

The government of the Islamic Republic has not yet taken a final stand on these proposals. This week is witnessing another meeting of EU and Iranian representatives in Vienna.
