FORGING A COMMON ECONOMIC SPACE

KIEV, October 21, (RIA Novosti) - Big Four working groups are to hold their two-day talks in the Ukrainian capital, discussing the creation of a common economic space. This was disclosed to RIA Novosti here today at the Ukrainian Government's press center. The Big Four comprises Belarus, Kazakhstan, Russia and Ukraine.

The four countries' experts are to discuss topical issues as regards this entity's subsequent development. After that, the so-called high-level group for establishing the common economic space will hold its session, as well.

Astana, Kazakhstan, hosted yet another Big Four summit September 15, what with national Presidents endorsing a list of 29 documents, which must be coordinated by the concerned parties, in the first place, and which must be readied for signing by July 1, 2005.

Among other things, Big Four leaders ordered their respective Governments to discuss the establishment of a consolidated space-rocket corporation and to submit the required proposals by December 15, 2004.

Moreover, the high-level group was ordered to draft a package of documents concerning more lenient exit-entry regulations for Big Four citizens before the year is out.
