THE HAGUE, October 19 (RIA Novosti) - The European Union will dispatch an antiterrorism cooperation coordinator to Russia, said Bernard Bot, foreign minister of the Netherlands (chair of the EU), at a press conference in The Hague.

"We took the decision to dispatch an antiterrorism cooperation coordinator from Brussels to Moscow to ensure discussion of antiterrorism issues and develop joint approaches to combating the international terrorism", said Mr. Bot.

According to him, this decision of the European Union should confirm the readiness of the EU to cooperate with Russia on this issue. At the same time, Mr. Bot emphasized that the European Union laid stress upon the cooperation with Russia in this area.

The Dutch foreign minister pointed out that the European Union regarded Russia as a very important strategic partner. "We will exert additional efforts towards detailed development of this partnership, at which today's talks (with Russia's Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov) were aimed. It does not mean that we do not have any disputes, but we need each other as real partners on the basis of numerous mutual interests", said Mr. Bot.

According to the Dutch minister, preparation for the Hague-hosted Russia-EU summit, scheduled for November 11, is successful and in the several weeks to come the sides intend to intensify the discussion of the remaining issues, particularly, during the upcoming meetings of justice and interior ministers late in October.

"Over the time remaining before November 11 we intend to achieve specific results in development of "road maps" for shaping four joint spaces of Russia and the EU", added Mr. Bot.
