MOSCOW, October 18 (RIA Novosti) - The tenth crew that came to the international space station on Saturday is changing the ninth crew and assuming command of the space post.

"On Monday the cosmonauts and astronauts were busy transferring the space shift from crew 9 to crew 10 and bringing cargoes, individual equipment and lodgments from the Soyuz TMA-5 space vehicle, official spokesman for Roskosmos (Russian Space Agency), Vyacheslav Davidenko said.

According to him, the crew that arrived at the ISS the other day deactivated the Soyuz TMA-5 vehicle, dried space suits and gloves and put them for safekeeping.

"All the members of the crews feel well," Mr. Davidenko said.

As he further said, the Energiya Russian space corporation set up a special commission to analyze the off-nominal situation, which emerged on October 16 on the way of the Soyuz vehicle to the ISS, when the crew had to assume control and dock with the station manually.

On Saturday, at the concluding stage of approaching the ISS, the on-board control system canceled the automatic mode, after which, on instructions from mission control, the crew led by commander of the Soyuz TMA-5 vehicle Salizhan Sharipov approached the station and docked with it manually.

"This command was given because the speed, at which the Soyuz TMA-5 and the ISS were coming close to each other before docking exceeded the norm. The crew acted properly and professionally and was able to fulfill the task that had been practiced on Earth for many times," Mr. Davidenko said.
