MOSCOW, October 15 (RIA Novosti) - Russia can participate in further construction of reactors of the atomic power plant in Iran if no political aspects hamper this process, acting head of the federal service for technological and atomic supervision Andrei Malyshev told RIA Novosti.

According to him, Russia and Iran have already discussed technological aspects of the possible completion of the second unit of the nuclear power plant in Bushehr. Russia is currently building the first unit, which will be put into operation in 2005.

The construction of only 40% of the second unit of the Bushehr power plant has been completed, while the building of the first unit is at the final stage, Mr. Malyshev noted.

"I assume that during 2005 we will supply all the necessary equipment," he said adding that final balancing and commissioning works will be carried out on the reactor.

Iran suggests that Russia build four more units, Andrei Malyshev reported. In his words, Russia's participation in the construction of the first unit in Bushehr is estimated at $1 billion.
