The Unites States is in second place, 14%. Meanwhile, about 30% of the polled are much concerned about the U.S. policy as regards their countries, Mr. Milekhin added.

As for confidence in public institutions is concerned, the President is in second place. About 26% of people trust the head of state. The same number of the polled does not trust public institutions. In Russia this amount is 3.36%.

"The main purpose of the Monitoring Eurasia project is to reveal peculiar and common features in people's moods and assessments in Eurasian countries and their readiness for rapprochement," Andrei Milekhin noted.

The representative poll was conducted in 14 Eurasian countries, including Russia, Ukraine, Lithuania, Kazakhstan, Bulgaria, and others. 600-1,500 people were polled in each country.
