Russian President Vladimir Putin's visit to China will take place on October 14-16.
"On the summit results, a solid political document will be adopted, which will assess the modern stage of bilateral relations, sum up the realization of the good-neighborliness, friendship and cooperation treaty and outline the course for deepening interaction in the political and economic spheres and on the international arena," said Mr. Rogachev.
The main result of the economic component of the visit, said the ambassador, will be adoption of a new document - the Russian-Chinese plan of actions for 2005-2008.
"Realization of this plan will in many respects define the character and level of our interaction in practical spheres for the near future," said Mr. Rogachev.
He called the coming visit by the Russian president to China the main event of the year in bilateral relations.
"This visit has a great significance from the point of view of strategic partnership deepening for the long-term prospect," said Mr. Rogachev.
He noted that the meeting of the Russian and Chinese leaders would give a possibility to exchange opinions on a wide spectrum of issues of realization of the good-neighborliness, friendship and cooperation treaty both in bilateral relations and on key international problems.
The Good-neighborliness, Friendship and Cooperation Treaty was signed by Russia and China on July 16, 2001.
With account for the current international situation, stressed Mr. Rogachev, very important will be the discussion of tasks of joint fight against terrorism, of the situation in Iraq, on the Korean peninsula, in the Middle East, and issues of strategic stability.
