SUKHUMI, October 6 (RIA Novosti) - Vladislav Ardzinba, President of the self-proclaimed Abkhazian republic, intends to meet all the five presidential candidates today and Sergei Smyr, head of the Abkhazian election commission, Ardzinba's press service reported.

"Under discussion will be the uneasy situation in the wake of the elections," Roin Agrba, head of the presidential press service, told RIA Novosti.

Agrba argues that the Abkhazian election commission is under the pressure of opposition forces.

A spontaneous meeting is currently being held in front of the election commission's building. The 300-odd protesters demand immediate announcement of the outcome of the elections held last Sunday.

One of the presidential candidates, Sergei Bagapsh, has appeared in front of the protesters and urged them to be calm.

According to Agrba, the election commission is not announcing the results of the voting because of numerous violations in the Gali district (on the border with Georgia).

Meanwhile, Sergei Bagapsh, who earlier announced his victory in the elections, has expressed his readiness to repeat the voting in the controversial Galsky district.

"The main thing is to prevent aggravation of the situation, and we are ready to repeat the elections in the Galsky district," said Bagapsh.

In his words, the current situation is critical. "We intend to discuss it with the president," said Bagapsh.

He believes that this situation resulted from poor arrangements for the elections.

RIA Novosti has just learnt that President Ardzinba has already held the meeting with the main presidential candidates, Raul Khadzhimba and Sergei Bagapsh, and Sergei Smyr, head of the Abkhazian election commission.

The participants in the meeting that lasted for over two hours refused to comment afterwards. "There is nothing to say," Bagapsh told reporters.

In the next one-two hours, the participants in the meeting intend to hold a press conference.
