CONCERT DEDICATED TO 70TH ANNIVERSARY OF LUNDSTREM'S BAND

MOSCOW, October 2 (RIA Novosti) - The concert "Big Band Maestros. Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow" will be held in the Grand Hall of the Moscow Conservatory on Saturday. It is dedicated to the 70th anniversary of Oleg Lundstrem's state chamber jazz band.

The famous band led by Georgy Garanyan will perform at the concert, the press service of the Moscow Philharmonic Society told RIA Novosti.

American composer, pianist and singer Peter Clark who played C. C. Capwell in the first part of Santa Barbara TV series will congratulate Oleg Lundstrem and his band.

Three years ago Mr. Clark already performed in the Conservatory when Lundstrem's 85th anniversary was marked. He played his piece Tabu dedicated to the Russian jazz patriarch. In the United State Peter Clark is also known as a jazz producer and chairman of the jazz festival in Santa Barbara.

Legendary bluesman Jerry Ricks boasting many W. C. Handy Award nominations will participate in the concert, as well. He has been performing all blues styles for over 40 years. The musician often gave concerts in Russia and former Soviet republics.
