RUSSIA DOUBLES H1 BUDGET SURPLUS

MOSCOW, October 1 (RIA Novosti) - The federal budget surplus was 435.8 billion roubles, roughly US$15 billion, last January into July-double what Russia had in the same months last year, reports the Federal Statistical Service, or Rosstat.

The seven months' federal revenues made 1,833.8 billion roubles, fiscal revenues R1,447.3 bn of this, and expenditures 1,398 billion.

66.9% of revenues expected for the entire year was received (69.9% for fiscal revenues), and 52.6% of the year's earmarked expenditures were made.

Defence expenditures were 229.7 billion roubles, 55.8% of the year's;

law enforcement and state security, 161.9 billion-52.1%;

fundamental research and promotion of research and technological progress, 21.5 billion, 46.6%;

industry, energy and construction, 24 billion, 35.5%;

farming and fishing, 12 billion, 40.6%;

transport, communications and information technologies, 3 billion, 54.1%;

national and municipal debt service, 120 billion, 41.7%;

and financial aid to other budgets within the federal finance network, 490.8 billion, 60.6%.
