The council made a statement in Moscow, July 3, on the situation in the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe. To develop on it, today's conferees made another CIS appeal to its partners on the OSCE. It is making practical proposals to adapt the OSCE to the latest developments, with due account for new threats and challenges, and concerns key aspects of OSCE activities in the near future.

The gathering paid close attention to enhancing CIS agencies' efficiency. The ministers approved a Kazakh-initiated draft resolution of the CIS council of heads of state to reform and streamline Commonwealth bodies.
