BAKU, September 15 (RIA Novosti's Gherai Dadashev) - Russia has determined to limit, for a time, crossing its frontier with Azerbaijan. Azerbaijan thinks it has good reason to do so, said Prime Minister Arthur Rasizadeh as he was addressing a CIS prime-ministerial council conference in Astana, Kazakhstan.

As any other country, Russia is anxious to rule out terrorist penetration, and Azerbaijan sees the point, he reassured.

His country perfectly understands Russian anti-terror efforts and pledges to support them, added the Premier.

It takes smooth teamwork to vanquish terror. The Beslan tragedy has proved it.

Though Azerbaijan does not border on Chechnya, it is closely monitoring developments in that part of Russia, said Mr. Rasizadeh.

The Azeri State Frontier Service has not yet received from its Russian analogue an official notification on temporary crossing limitation, so its soldiers are guarding the frontier in their usual routine, service PR said to Novosti.

The terror threat and the North Caucasian situation coming to an edge have forced Russia to limit, for a time, Russian-Azeri frontier crossing, starting today.
